I used to go everywhere with my camera, when I was younger. People who knew me back then might remember I had Patty Smyth’s “Patty Smyth” CD (1992) in my car’s CD player for about 15-years, almost exclusively. For short periods, Patty would have to step aside for a new kid on the block, like Patty Griffin, who’s 1996 “Living With Ghosts” contained absolute unadulterated magic, or maybe someone like Lari White, a country redhead who’s eyes from the cover of her 1993 debut “Lead Me Not” were certainly twirling around in my head, but who didn’t even need to be marvelously good-looking to rise to the top of my favorites very fast. The lyrics from the title cut are some of the best I’ve ever heard. This is a recent rendition of “Lead Me Not,” part of my desperate effort to relive the road trip of my past, while hopefully turning-on younger people to something good!
