I didn’t make this video, and don’t have much to say about it. It’s a funny video that focuses on a deadly issue. Comedy about illness.
That may sound bad, but it’s not.
As social creatures, humans listen gladly to jokes, and often derive meaning from them. It can be a way to really send home a message. This video, “It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Genocide,” is the modern version of a radio hit from the 60’s, the “I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag,” which protested the war in Vietnam with lines like “Be the first one on the block to have your boy come home in a box!”
Comedy is one of the only weapons we have in a war of words, and while the world sorts out who’s to blame, and people continue to “die suddenly,” kept secret by the media as if their hands were tied … people who get stuck defending lies they were told by the government may actually hear the truth in a comedy skit.
Intentionally making wrong sound “normal,” audience baited by humor and laughing … a “fun” message may survive censorship, while embedding a new way of thinking into one brain at a time.
When they try to shut you up … the wise radical may still find a way! Wikipedia says of the Fixin’ to Die Rag “The song was usually preceded by ‘The Fish Cheer,’ a cheer spelling out ‘F-I-S-H.’ An altered version of the cheer that was performed in live performances, known as ‘The Fuck Cheer,’ resulted in a television ban for Country Joe and the Fish in 1968 for the vulgarity, but was applauded by concert-goers. “

7 years ago when children didn’t routinely die of heart attacks/blot clots – to even begin to merit this kind of shit. Wonder what they knew about what was coming that we didn’t?
Apparently we’re in a bit of an echo chamber here, because I hear nothing of this within the general population. They’re all still masking up and doing the social distancing thing. W/hen the admonish me for not “following the protocols”, I just ask them “Aren’t you late for your next booster?”
Hi William! This stuff is just SO off the wall! Thanks for hangin on this side of reality. There’s not alot of hope in my mind when people double down on puppetness and the media will treat it like it isn’t happening. Combined with wishful thinking like ostriches. I still can’t believe no-one seems to care about 84-billion to the Taliban, but that’s no secret and no-one cares to do anything to stop this government! The 84-billion public discussion went away like it wasd no big deal. The victims are complicit and the criminal is invisible.
