Diamond Rare (A Poem)

A ball of dirt
Spins in the air
I held two diamonds
A perfect pair

One of them dropped
Into the sand
The sand turned to glass
The glass turned to air

I lost my sense
Of distance and time
Blinded I’d wait
And let time unwind

Because when you find
The wind at your back
The sun in your face
And a friend by your side

Feet to the sand
Eyes to the sky
You’re living right
It’s not all a big lie

Diamond fall
Diamond rare
Spin one more time
I know it’s still there

Friendships
Don’t disappear
Or nothing is real
Be patient my dear
