Chris Bandi – Sweet Home Alabama Mashup (Washington County Fair, RI, 2021)

Country star Chris Bandi graced the stage Saturday night at the Washington County Fair in Richmond, Rhode Island. He brought an impressively small band and made some impressively big sounds! Bandi even explained to the crowd his usual guitarist got COVID so this guitarist was a stand-in who learned the songs in a week! With only himself (vocal, guitar) and a guitarist and drummer (no bass), Bandi’s sound was actually an improvement over many much larger bands I’ve heard! (Let’s not mention the night before, when Easton Corbin made the fair audience wait a full 1-1/2 hours before taking the stage!)

Here’s Bandi having fun with an old Skynyrd track about Alabama! Continue reading “Chris Bandi – Sweet Home Alabama Mashup (Washington County Fair, RI, 2021)”

I Dare You! Introducing The Zipper 2021 – Washington County Agricultural Fair, Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, Richmond, Rhode Island

It’s late. I just saw Chris Bandi at the Washington County Fair in Richmond, RI. It was the Saturday night show, but not attended as well as Friday night with Easton Corbin. Nevertheless, it was a lesser-known talent and a better show!

More on the fabulous Bandi three-piece country rock ensemble coming up. Today, to keep your interest at a fair peak, I’ll shuffle you over to the rides section, where the never-a-good-idea “Zipper” battles side by side against the “Polar Express” for the proud honor of being the strangest idea humans have ever come up with. The screaming is all part of the atmosphere! This video was taken for the last Zipper plunge of the night. HOLD ON! Continue reading “I Dare You! Sugar Band Dance Party (Music Video)

Today’s entertainment comes with no doctor’s warning, though your consumption of Sugar is guaranteed to increase dramatically. Thanks for joining me for a very sweet article. It’s all about two videos of the band Sugar, performing in North Stonington and Mystic, Ct.!

The first video is from the archives, from 2019’s North Stonington Agricultural Fair, where Sugar took us on a ride that pleasantly lasted until the sun went down. Marcy Kelly is joined by Natalia Rosso.

The second video is also Sugar, with Marcy and Rickie Louise Miller doing lead vocals, from this year, June 5, 2021 at the Mystic Seaport Museum grounds, where I was able to fly all the way across an enormous field using my handheld gimbal video camera. I walked at least a couple hundred feet; it’s a great flyover! And the crowd was friendly and fun; Continue reading “Sugar Band Dance Party (Music Video)”

There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back, Sugar, Mystic, June 2021 (Music Video)

An outstanding rendition of Shawn Mendes’ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” performed by some of the region’s most talented musicians, featuring Rickie Louise Miller on vocal, with Marcy Kelly and Sugar, the band that fills the dance floor, every time, on the first note.

This footage is essentially unedited. The camera guy did good, and didn’t need to splice his way to a smooth and enjoyable experience. All I did was some color correction; shot with a single camera, no splices. There was a great turnout for the outdoor show at the Mystic Seaport, and as happens sometimes, Marcy let Rickie take the wheel for much of the show; Marcy manages the band but it’s a two-girl show with three girls sharing the duties, which, in my opinion, has led to some endlessly fascinating combinations of style and personality, and a hugely wide basket of tunes. And when Marcy lets go of the reins, she has lots of time to dance! Just watch! 🙂

Fighting Fluff With Fluff – Breaking News on Trump’s Colorful Past REVEALED

Does it seem unfair to you that the media has been writing scathing, bitter and even sometimes unfair articles (and especially headlines) on the topic of Donald Trump, while ignoring stories and presenting nothing but fluff when it comes to Joe Biden?

Coke is canceling 200 drink brands, according to CNN! Eh … not going to read that one … Oh, here! Google News lists all the important stuff, right? Here on the top – CBS is criticizing Trump for cutting an interview short! Well that makes him look like he’s evading reporters! Cool! Another at the top of the list from the Washington Post’s lavatory cleaning crew, who also write stories at night, telling us “Why Trump’s Endgame is to Rage at Lesley Stahl.” Eh, not going to read that one either, you have to log into this dirty rag and I just washed my hands, besides, who the hell is Lesley Stahl?

I don’t like the Washington Post. It’s mean. The paper is very biased against the President. If you’re interested in what’s wrong with journalism, the Washington Post is the BEST place to start. But they got two of the top headlines on Google News this morning, out of five in the top headlines box. Two others were from CNN, a tough competitor in the race for justice in reporting, using it’s powerful engine room of twisted zombies to flesh out the worst in daily hatred. One says Trump is Continue reading “Fighting Fluff With Fluff – Breaking News on Trump’s Colorful Past REVEALED”

The History of Country Joe, A Funny Way to Change The World

blog banner with peace sign

The 1960s should have taught us something. We can fight the good fight with sweat, but not so much blood and tears.

When, in my imagination, I compare 2020 to 1969, for example, there are strong similarities. Enormous crowds of liberals gathering in the darkest, muddiest conditions, in order to create solidarity. People emotionally expressing their feelings of fear, but also hope for the future!

In ’69, Country Joe McDonald was a famous guy who sang and played guitar. His sidekick, Barry Melton, was nicknamed “The Fish.” These two got on stage in front of almost half a million people one day in August Continue reading “The History of Country Joe, A Funny Way to Change The World”

The History (and Future) of Online Selling for the Small Guy on Amazon and eBay

I’ve been selling online for over 20-years, ever since my friend, Dave, encouraged me to try eBay. It was sort of a new thing at the time. My previous experience had been disappointing, because the web interface wasn’t working well. But after I tried it again it was better. I could get a sale posting through.

In those twenty years, in retrospect, I’m feeling like I rode the best wave eBay Continue reading “The History (and Future) of Online Selling for the Small Guy on Amazon and eBay”
